Brooke Pederson

Library Director


Part of the team since 2014.

What she does...

Brooke is responsible for the daily operations of the library, including the library’s awesome personnel, financial management, collection development, and programming. She loves sharing the vision of the library with the Upper Skagit community and most of all, loves seeing kids get excited about books.

Talk to me about...

Children’s literature, young adult literature, sci-fi/fantasy, and Mongolia. Yes, Mongolia. Brooke is also a papercut artist and enjoys art in many forms.

Tess Carroll

Library Associate


Part of the team since 2017.

What she does...

To name a few tasks….Researches, orders, and catalogs all fiction, non-fiction, biographies, large print, and audiobooks in the Library. Weeds out stacks to make room for transitioning books from the newer releases. Accepts and processes donations from the community. Creates, plans, and implements Library programs. Writes the articles that are in the Concrete Herald, Cascadia Weekly, Skagit Valley Herald/GoSkagit, and writes and records a monthly KSVU radio spot. Assists with posts to Facebook about Library happenings and new items.

Nancy Sparkowich

Patron Services

Part of the team since 2004.

What she does...

Assists patrons,  magazine collection development,  assists with new book processing,  handles overdues, bank deposits, Interlibrary Loans, waters the plants, and much more!

Technology Specialist


Part of the team since 2018.

What she does...

Maintenance of servers and workstations. development and maintenance of the website, oversees Library statistics. Brainstorms and creates things that help the library to provide better services for our patrons!

Chazlyn Lovely

Library Marketing Assistant


Part of the team since 2018.

What she does...

Oversees the library’s marketing efforts by running the library’s social media accounts, creates the monthly newsletter, designs graphics and flyers, helps Loly with the website, oversees video material selection/ordering, circulation.

Library District Boundaries

The Upper Skagit Library District, in Eastern Skagit County, includes the area within the Concrete School District, from Lusk Road east to the county line. The Mansford Precinct (near Darrington) is not included in the Junior Taxing District.
