Hello everyone,
I’m going to admit to being extremely frustrated about what I’m going to type next; we’re going to have to yet again postpone our Author Event Q&A.
Despite best efforts and best intentions, I have been unable to get the time to prepare your work for publication – there just isn’t enough time to have it printed before the 23rd. I’m also getting ready to go on an unplanned leave that’s unavoidable for at least the next week, so I will be further put behind in trying to get the book ready.
I’m very sorry – I know you all have been very eager to finish the program and receive the final book. It WILL happen, but outside circumstances mean that the timeline needs to be extended.
So, what’s next?
A lot of “hurry up and wait” if I’m honest.
When I get back from my unplanned leave I’ll have to furiously do some catch-up on other duties and the furiously do some catch-up on formatting the book and getting it to the publisher.
At this point I think the best course of action is to not plan the date of the author event until we’re holding the books in our hands – once we have the books we still need to do the marketing to get everyone to join us for the big celebration.
My question to you, young authors, is if you’d like to schedule additional workshops to work on marketing and event planning once the books are published. Go ahead and send me an email to let me know your thoughts – I’d really appreciate it.
Once I know more, I’ll let everyone know. Again, I’m really sorry about this. I hope you hang in there with me just a bit longer.
