Back in May the Skagit Community Foundation awarded USL a $5,000 grant to fund its kids and teen snack baskets, its coffee bar, and more. $2,000 came from the Susan D. Henry Donor Advised Fund while $3,000 came from the ERAC Donor Advised Fund.
As part of its 2022 Strategic Planning goals the library identified four core values, one of which is that of Stewardship, which partially takes the form of addressing food insecurity in the community. The SCF grant has financially eased the strain on the library and the Friends of the Upper Skagit Library’s efforts to make sure that community members of all ages are able to access meals when other resources are unavailable.
75 local organizations were awarded grants to the sum of $639,215.41 by the Skagit Community Foundation in 2024. SCF is funded by donations from partners and individuals
