Celebrating One Year of the Freedge at USL
Over the past year, the Freedge at Upper Skagit Library has played a vital role in supporting a community grappling with persistent food and economic insecurity. This initiative is driven by a dedicated group of locals whose only qualifications are a genuine desire to help others and the commitment to take action.
To me, the Freedge is a natural extension of the library’s mission: to be a place of enrichment and empowerment for all, regardless of one’s means or background. It embodies the library’s core values by not just offering access to knowledge but also providing essential resources to meet basic human needs.
As we celebrate this milestone, I hope the Freedge and the message it carries inspire everyone to reflect on how we can each contribute to creating meaningful change and uplifting those around us. Together, small actions can lead to significant impacts in our community.
I am excited to continue supporting the Freedge and its mission into 2025 and beyond. Let’s keep working to make a difference!
