Find Your Voice!

This summer we’re going to explore ways to express yourself and share what’s important to you!

Our voices have power: we use them to communicate and connect with each other, to express ourselves, to advocate for ourselves and others, to tell stories and so much more. Our voices are not only the words we speak with our voice-boxes; they’re the signs we make with our hands in sign languages, the words we write or type, the art we create, the movements or music we perform, and the actions we take to change our communities and the world.
This summer, library staff want to empower our community to use and share their voices – individually and collectively. Through our activities and item recommendations we – and our partners – aim to demonstrate and provide access to many forms of expression including conversations, writing, art, music,
storytelling, community activism, and performance.

We hope you’ll join us and become confident in finding and using your voice – even if it shakes.
