Library Marketer: Starting this Thursday, July 18th, we’ll be starting a new monthly schedule for the library!
You: *blinking* What???
Library Marketer: Every third Thursday of the month – Board of Trustees meeting days – the library will be closed for the whole day so that staff have a consistent day they can work on projects together that they can’t do when the library is open or have training days!
You: ….why?
Library Marketer: Hopefully it will help staff stay caught up on behind the scenes work and help us avoid having randomly scheduled training days!
You: So…what about the Board of Trustees meeting? That’s supposed to be open to the public….
Library Marketer: It still is! We’ll open the building up a little bit before the meeting when we’re finished setting up so everyone can get sat down and settled before it begins! We won’t have library services during the meeting, so hopefully meeting recording audio quality improves and there’s less distractions during the meeting!
You: And this starts Thursday? …Thanks for the late notice…
Library Marketer: Sorry…it’s been really busy! But hopefully this will help us do better about communicating sooner in the future! Thanks for being understanding! We’ll see you again at 10am on the 19th!
tldr; the library will be closing on the 3rd thursday of each month starting this thursday, july 18th for staff work/training days. the board of trustees meetings will continue at their usual time and will remain open to the public. the library will open for the meetings but services will be unavailable during and after the meeting.
