Our BoT is a group of volunteers who work to support library operations alongside the Library Director and staff. BoT members are appointed by other BoT members after an application and interview process and approved by the County Commissioners. BoT members are not paid or otherwise compensated for their work, and can serve in a variety of positions, including a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Officer, Community Liaison, or At-Large. The BoT is responsible, among many things, for budget and policy oversight, establishing the library’s mission and vision for the future, the hiring and evaluation of Library Directors, answering the questions of patrons and the general public, and are frequently the signatories for contracts, official county documents, and more. The BoT is the library’s biggest advocate and supporter, in addition to any Foundations or Friends groups associated with the library and frequently work in collaboration with these groups and the community at large.
